The California Rural Crime Prevention Task Force Exists To...

• Offer agencies throughout the state the opportunity to strengthen crime fighting partnerships;
• Encourage information sharing among members on current rural crime trends and suspects;
• Encourage member agencies to implement both innovative and traditional programs in their communities;
• Increase citizens’ personal and property security in rural and unincorporated areas by enhancing their knowledge of crime prevention practices;
• Provide training for Task Force members on the newest innovations in fighting rural crime;
• Encourage law enforcement and private agencies throughout the state to investigate innovative and functional rural crime prevention programs;
• Develop and/or support appropriate legislation to enhance law enforcement’s ability to apprehend and prosecute rural criminals.
